Desi Street Food is an Indian Cafe concept created to experience the street markets of India. From the northern region of Punajb, though Delhi, down to Mumbai we wanted to bring a sense of that culture – drinking Chai or Limca, eating Chaats or a healthy Salad.
“desi = a person of Indian, Pakistani, or Bangladeshi birth or descent who lives abroad.”
Indian street food goes back centuries. From the streets of Delhi, Mughal Kings used to indulge in local street recipes. In Kolkata street food fused with British customers during colonial times creating new and exiting dishes. Now Street food across India brings flavours, ingredients, and techniques that unites communities together.
We have bought back the secret recipes, ingredients and techniques, mixed them with our British Culture and made them all Vegetarian just for you.
THE WORD ON THE STREET
Amazing! After my trip to Mumbai a few years ago i was craving the simple yet mouthwatering street food which we indulged on through our trip. I have now found the right spot in Leicester with the same flavours, vibe, and dishes that bring back the memories and satisfy the taste buds. Brilliant Service.
Great food, greta service and love that its 100% vegetarian. Brings back the flavours from back home. Working in the UK makes you miss the street food vibe in Delhi with quick snacks for lunch or after work with tea. DSF does exactly that. Thank you so much, PS i love the Masala Chai.
My mouth is still watering every time i think of DSF! I think will be a regular Saturday morning customer with their typical Desi Parotas and their Masla Chai. Hits the spot just like how my mother used to make them. Thank you for the great service and making it feel like a second home.
